Welcome to United Doberman Rescue and Canine Castaways of Minnesota!

Adopt, Surrender, Support, Foster, Donate

We are a  501C3 , non-profit animal rescue, based in Minnesota. We believe the need to rescue exists not only on a local basis, but more broadly across the United States and the world. With a passion for dogs and  over 40 years working with and loving the Doberman breed specifically, w e can truly say we know Dobermans! Let us help you if you have a Doberman in need of rescue, or if you want to adopt, we can make recommendations for the best dog for your home!

Our mission is to rescue all Dobermans, Doberman mixes and other breeds of dogs, from death and abandonment and find them permanent, loving, forever homes through our foster to adopt program.

“When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal.

I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.”

―  Anthony Douglas Williams

Our adoptable rescued dogs live with foster families until they are adopted, learning basic manners of home life, while being nurtured, loved and cared for just like one of our own dogs. UDR rescue dogs also have the BONUS luxury of being boarded when fosters go on vacation, enjoying doggy daycare, playing with other dogs, and even attending formal  obedience  classes while in foster care! All important skills for rescue dogs who may have never experienced such things in their past life and helps get them socialized in a safe, formal setting.

Bianca, forever loved!

All our rescue dogs are fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, on preventative for flea, tick, heart-worms and micro-chipped prior to adoption. For puppies we wait till they are 6 months old to alter. We address any health issues, big or little, that may present itself while in foster care.

Many homeless animals come to the Doberman Ranch, also known as
heaven on earth for a homeless animal,
before moving on to a foster or adoptable home!

We actively work with other animal rescues across the U.S. and the world, to help save the purebred Doberman, Doberman mixes and other animals in need of rescue help. Please contact us if you would like to partner with us!

Fostering saves lives

->Go to our adoptable dogs page to see the dogs we need foster homes for right now!<-

Afraid of getting attached?

Consider the alternative....if no one helps they have no chance at life, those dogs in shelters will be euthanized as its a numbers game for them. I would rather cry watching a foster dog leave my home, filled with happiness then cry because no one stepped up to help and the dog died in a shelter, sad, alone and frightened.

have helped

hundreds of animal find forever homes!

What we have accomplished:

UDR found homes for over 350 animals!

and helped many more with food and support!

*We assisted many homeless animals and their owners with food donations so they did not have to surrender their pets! Please contact us if you know of anyone who is having trouble feeding their pets!!! We want to help!

*We actively work with impound animals found as strays for the 5 day hold until a owner or partner rescue is found.

*UDR's exceptional volunteers, donors, adopters and supporters have made a difference for countless homeless animals and their people all over the world! We could not have done this without everyone's support. A sincere thank you for everything you do to help us help the homeless!

HELP ME

Give me the ugly dog with one eye, three legs,
and help me show that they're more than just a form and a face.

Give me the scarred dog, burned and slashed with hate,
and help me lead it away from that terrible fate.

Give me the deaf and blind dog, and help me show it the way
in the silence and dark of each of their days.

Give me the shutdown dog, depressed of mind,
and help me cherish their soul until their fears unwind.

Give me the old dog, bent and broken with age,
and help me fill their last days with an unending grace.

Give me the ugly dog, I'll leave the pretty one for you,
and help me show them they're worthy of love and joy, too.
